Man, so I suck at this.
I see how people do special things for the 100th post, etc...so I decided that the next time I hit a milestone of some sort I would do the same thing.
Turns out that would have been my 1200th post. HolyMother of God that is a lot of bitching and moaning from me, huh?
But guess what happened? I screwed it up. This is 1,202. The last time I noticed, it was 1,193.
Oh well.
Yesterday's only injury was walking into the handicapped parking sign in the parking lot at WalMart and smacking my head--as usual, I was doing three things at once, and not paying enough attention
Another thing I screwed up---I have been waiting since Friday for the transporter to pick up Mojo. I got all the paperwork out on Tuesday--I remember laying the health certificate out on the kitchen table along with some other detritus from my purse. Then I went out of town. Thursday I got out the Coggins. ..which is new, so I knew I had it, but there is always a pile of them to sort through and hell, half my horses are named almost the same things, so I live in fear I will send the wrong one.
Shipper finally showed up at 10:30 Sunday nite. Guess what I cannot find--the health papers. Crap. We tore the car apart looking for them after I went through every piece of mail in the joint. And of course, it was too late to call Kevin to get a new set issued.
We got the horse loaded and I was hoping the shipper would let it slide or go to sleep and wait for me to get the new papers issued at 7 am. I looked until after midnite for the papers and finally fessed up that we could not find them--he decided to take me up on the second option and go to sleep.
Barry was driving me crazy with the "didja look here, didja look there" crap. Of course I did. Then he went through the trash can in the garage and BAM there they were.
That kept us up until almost 2:30 this morning--or it did me.
Bottom line, Mojo is on his way to Courtney and Holly, but first he has to go to Virginia to drop off a TB. That works out okay since they have had a blizzard in Pennsylvania yesterday and today. He should arrive late tomorrow nite or Wednesday.
All that time at the farm did let us get Tango wrapped--she is swelling up again after the swelling seemed to have gone down. It does not FEEL like swelling though, which is what throws me, her joints are not hot and she is not off in any way. I am probably being a neurotic fruit loop. These are her wet muddy legs on Saturday and they looked normal. Now there is no definition above her fetlocks--they looked okay here, and this shot was taken after she had been off of all gran for three days. She got one pound of Strategy to put her Bute on Saturday and Sunday they were bigger again--not puffy at all, just bigger.
What this leads to is that I did not get to work as early as I would have liked-I hate starting out Mondays feeling like I am running behind. I have no lunch partner for the mandatory lunch today, so I guess I will go to the farm and feed then, or to the gym---if I wait and go to the gym later today, then I can talk to the neanderthal about his defective equipment.
This weeks goals:
1--quit being so boring.
2 -work out four days
3 --go to grocery story to get stuff to make for a board thanksgiving party tomorrow, then make it and remember to go to party--so probably tuesday will be no workout day
4--continue with gutting of kitchen drawers etc that started when looking for paperwork tomorrow
5. be excited that Barry did all the laundry and put it away!
6. Consider taking Tequila to the vet and maybe do it, if her back end goes berserk again.
7. Deal with Tango and her issues.
8. Go home during daylight errors to take pics, as I feel like I am in a rut and very very very boring
9. update website per many requests for new pics of now yearlings, etc
10. get show results to update Hutch's website
11. Get together books for new giveaways-- I have about 6
12. Start damn Twilight book
13. Mail Mojo's papers.
14. Finally send in Gypsy's DNA
15. Finish a couple pics for Uno's registration, which might be due today. CRAP
If I can get half of this done today, I might feel like I am not so far behind

Hold me to this
I must make a list.
Today, here is what I have to do before I am allowed to sit on my fat ass watching TV tonight. I MUST mow the weeds in the front pasture so I can take pics of babies in there and see their legs. DONE I still need some registration shots to finish those up (these do not have to all get done today, but really Gizmo should) This requires BS to drive the little tractor to the farm so I can do so. This is priority number one. I already asked him to bring it.
I also must move some horses around. Or see if it is true that Grandpa will refuse to share his high dollar dinner with the babies he is running with. That would be the best case scenario as he loves them so. That decision has to be made. DECISION MADE, STAY TUNED
I have to pull Gypsy's hair for her DNA test. Might as well do today. DONE , left it in Gator
I have to start 5 month PK1 shots. Which means I have to wrap my pea brain around who is ready for them. Which I think I can do pretty easily once I stop whining about it and actually do it. FIGURED IT OUT, GOT 3 of 7 that ARE READY DONE
I SHOULD saddle Boogie and see how his brain is. DONE- HE IS FANTASTIC I wonder what saddles and other accoutrements are at the farm? Both trailers are at the house, so I bet most saddles are in there. That is on the possible list. He has definitely calmed down a lot.
Determine where Mojo is going to start trailer school. We are going old school with him--he will eat and drink in the horse trailer this week. ...at his determination if and when he should do these things. So we have to decide where to put it, then put up a pen to attach to it and let him work it out for himself. That should happen tonight or tomorrow. He is at least coming back in for more school tonight. DONE- AND DOING WELL AFTER WEEKEND BREAK
Doctor Ammo, who is going along with the weaning program better than ever. DONE Perhaps do her registration pics, as well as Tango's. They need leading school as well. DONE
Confirm next farrier appointment--call has been made, appointment requested.
Since it gets dark so early, that is probably more than I can get done in the 90 minutes I get after work before it is dark. I really want to take some pictures. DID THAT TOO
When I get home, I have to pick up the crap in the kitchen. Fold comforters and blankets and get them the hell out of the laundry room lest I hyperventilate next time I go in there--the clutter is out of control. I have to find the box for my Powershot, and my warranty and get it ready to send it for cleaning etc.
Do my stallion report for AQHA. That will help me get myself in order on other shots.
Catch up on my blogs--I hate missing days, but it is fun to have lots to read at once.
Tomorrow--the stuff I did not get done today, as well as start baby vaccines. STARTED- DID TWO AND FOUND THAT I HAVE ENOUGH TO GET THROUGH FIRST ROUND This will require the help of BS however, who has a tentative date to go on a road ride with Brant, et al after work. Yes, this is the same BS who may have a broken ankle. I shall take this as a sign that he does not in fact have a broken ankle.
Definitely take more pics, as rain is called for later in the week.
Wednesday I am supposed to go to dinner with Hutch as his birthday is Friday--and it is a big one. We are having a nice steak dinner at Stonewolf, I think, just the four of us. We have our first show this weekend, so I have some bookwork to do to get ready--some new forms to design, etc. That of course is not as easy as it sounds, as the forms from before are on the old computer......I will have to figure all that out. Earlier in the week, the better.
And now I just got a phone call saying the new trainer now has a spot for us, but he wants one that is already started. Shit. I wanted to send him Voodoo, that is who I need started. Maybe I will send Boogie. I would have sent Target, but this guy does not have cows currently, so there is no point in that. I do not know why I am struggling with this. I am the customer here, if I do not have something that he wants, that ought to be the end of it--not that I should bend over backwards to send something he wants, just to make him happy. I am the one writing the check. If I need one started, I should find someone to take him that WANTS to start one. I make this too hard.
That is a lot to work out here. Maybe I should move Boogie up on the hit parade to see if he is ready to start his training again, and mess with him tonight to confirm that. Then I could run him up to the new guy later this week. DETERMINATION: He is ready
Yep, better do that

If you do not hear from me this weekend,
It is because I am doing all these things:
Tonight
Move round bales hay to middle pasture (hopefully this will be done by the time I get there)
Clean 6 stalls (hey cool, there are only 4 horses in right now--that is not so bad! And they were all gutted last nite, so just need picking)
Move a bunk feeder into the round pen where babies are living until Marvin gets here to trim
Pick up a new bunk feeder (This can wait, it is just at Hutch's)
We have to breed someone--I do not know who yet---maybe Cash---Mel got her Lute shot last nite and Xan was bred last nite. Fuzzy needs to be teased, bred, Luted or whatever as well. That should be fun, tromping through the mud to get them-
Deal with potential new hire tonight. (Done: set up meeting at 5:30 on Monday at farm)
Shit needs to be scooped off of concrete at back barn and moved to pile. (BS says no way in hell is he doing this tonight, he is tired)
Place an ad for free manure.
Take more care of squeak as usual. No big deal
Groom on aries who is next up to foal but is acting goofy, I think.
Bring in Gypsy whose baby dropped yesterday afternoon as well and finish her contracts with Watkins Equine for Boonsmal Cee Lena breeding
Do Aries contracts with Buffalo Ranch...quit putting it off. Will only take seconds, but I am afraid to send it without a live foal on the ground first
Move big dead water trough into round pen to feed hay out of so they do not make such a mess.
Maybe go to a movie. NOT eating out, we have eaten out every nite this week, I think, I am sick of it. (CANCEL THIS! we are too tired and going to hang out at home with the puppies--sounds perfect to me!)
Saturday
Make two trips to pick up 16 big bales of alfalfa for 1600 freaking dollars.
It is an hour round trip, but hanging out there, getting loaded and unloaded at home to go back, takes a long time.
Julie's dad is supposed to be coming over to cut up trees for firewood with BS--he is finally cutting up the down trees! I had to buy him a chainsaw to do it and he broke it the first day but there you go--it is back from the shop already.
We have to repair fence where the trees are laying on it and burn stuff like we are Doyle, all weekend.
Also breed Xan again, but surely to God she is out--I cannot believe she is this late on her foal heat- I thought we caught the end of her Tuesday but she bred last nite as well. Tease again to see what is shaking with other folks.
Breed Hotrod.
Perhaps watch some NCAA bball.
Sunday
more cutting up, more work with babies, etc, BS may go to a race.
Now Headley just called and said maybe we go to the Shawnee and ride--that would be AWESOME. Which means I should move the tax doing to tonight or Saturday nite. Nix the movie, I suspect.
DO THE TAXES--my appt is monday morning at 9

How the list is coming
Pretty good yesterday, I thought, even though I kept thinking of things I needed to add to the list. Like get Barry's dress socks, but I could not get free of my other stuff until well after 9 pm, and then things were closed. I will try to do it over lunch today (if I take one)
I just made my appointment for pedicure at 4 pm Thursday. Which means I have to exercise early that day as I will not be able to make water aerobics at 5:30, and also I will have to come to work early so I can leave early enough to go to the appointment.
I did get in a tan and a good water aerobics class yesterday, so at least I am not behind on that so far.
I met with Jenna for dinner to go over her application stuff, it was fun.
Today so far, I have overslept by at least an hour. I voted and got here late. I have some paperwork to do, in addition to the three cases I need to wrap up by Friday --one is essentially done and with the secretarty, one I totally forgot to put in a harm section so have to come up with one, and one I need to research so I can write the dude a letter telling him what is going on. And I need to figure out why I have oral arguments in March for clients who I represented in 1998 but not since....that is a little wierd. Obviously there is an error somewhere. I need to go hunt Barry's socks.
I am going to go to the gym after work (which may be 7 pm at the rate I am going), to life weights and walk or ride the bike). After that, if there is time, I am going to ride Slygirl, if only for a little bit.
And eventually I need to end up at Jeff's campaign results activity, to participate in the celebration (it better be a celebration). He is the right man for the job, but when you let people who get their facts from the newspaper who also does not understand the job vote--and the campaigns get nasty, it is nerve-wracking to say the least. I suspect there will be a post on that later.
Better get cracking!
ETA: Man am I on a roll. The bank called, the comps are in on the farm, and as expected, we are in great shape there. I called the party holding title right now, and asked him to have the titel work done by our return from vacation. That is very exciting---we are also considering re-financing the house again if the rates are low enough.
I have done a sales contract, prepared some stuff I am way overdue finishing, dealt with AQHA on two things that are not my problem, but to make life easy, I did it anyway. On that note, why do people own a horse, breed her and never bother to put her in their name? I got a DNA request for Jacs Bag O Trix, who I sold in 2005, and is now in foal to CD Style. I had to send them a letter saying that I sold her, and do not know who owns her now--my phone call was not enough. Isn't that stupid? I also dealt with the hospital who wants a bill paid but they want to talk to Barry about it--well he is up a pole, do you want your money or not? That irritates the crap out of me.
Now for REAL, I have to find food

Things that interest no one but me
I am starting to get overwhelmed, so I must make a list. In order to not lose the list, I must put it on here so I will know where it is.
Haircut 1 pm Wednesday.
Make appt for pedicure...hopefully Thursday (eta: fools are not open on Monday so I cannot make the apptment today)
Get pedicure
Tan two times
Exercise at least 4 sessions, but not on Friday-and no water on Wednesday after the hair. Going to do water aerobics today, and Wednesday morning, I think. Dont think I can do boxing Wednesday either, since I don't want to get that sweaty so I can put off washing hair until Thursday nite after having the gray roots colored on Wednesday
Pick up cocktail dresses at seamstress 30 minutes away, Wednesday by 5.
Get rabies shot for Tequila--Wednesday, be done by 4:30 so I can go get dresses in Salem by 5
Get shot records for Tequila --same as above
Get pig food and Equine Senior, Beet Pulp, etc. Must do today so pig does not starve. Has to be done by 4:30 when elevator closes. DONE
Go to bottled water place and get new water. Have to do this before feed, as there are 5 bottles in the car, so nowhere to put feed. DONE
Deal with LeaAnn on instructions for while we are gone--and explain to her that no matter what she says, if she was feeding 20 pounds of senior feed per day, 100 pounds would not last 14 days. It just would not. Order whatever materials she needs ro make some fence repairs, as baling twine does not a fence make. Decapitated horse, that it might make. (ETA: meeting on Wednesday arranged)
Ride Slygirl twice if possible.
Work on Jenna's stuff for a job app that is do tomorrow (DONE), and meet with her tonight to discuss. Not done yet. Obviously.
Vote tomorrow. Go to election results party for my candidate for State's Attorney and do whatever is called for all nite while the results come in.
Do better about daily photo as I am totally dropping the ball--I need to do well this week, since I will be other wise out for 10 days. I have a good post with photos regarding the Great Bird Shit Festival of 2008 to do tonight
Go buy new bunk feeder since the one I ordered a month ago is clearly not coming, and I am sick of seeing all that high dollar stragety disappear into the mud when the babies paw it out of the dishes
Submit new bid for stallion auction as the auction people screwed things up (that is my story and I am sticking to it)
Track down some money from Citibank that has not shown up and should have by now.
On Friday, take dogs to kennel. Make sure the Kuranda bed is repaired to go with them.
Set up feed situation for Rita to feed Slater and Simba and Boce for the first two days I am gone, until mom gets back from Guatemala. (JUST DID IT)
Babysit dad until mom gets back from Guatemala--he is doing really good actually. He scheduled his next surgery for his bladder tumors for Feb 23.
Figure out what trip things I forgot at WalMart the two times we already went. Go get them.
Practice with underwater camera. If it keeps raining on top of melted snow, I can stand in the driveway and take underwater shots.
PACK. Holy Martha is that going to be a job. Barry packs like a girl.
Boss Barry around so he does the stuff he has to do. Then boss him some more.
Make hotel reservations for Friday nite. ETA: DONE! but discovered an error in their frequent flier program that now needs attention and of course, they won't talk to me directly. I have to now mail things. (DONE)
Which reminds me to mail stuff to Lori too, which I have been carrying around all weekend
Put together all the reservations stuff for the trip, etc. That should be an undertaking.
ETA: Talk with banker re: appraisals on the farm which are supposed to be in today. That is a biggy .
Well I am even more overwhelmed right now that I was before the list. I have to stop. You know I am going to think of more things I have to do. Oy
