I knew it would happen

one of these days and this seems like the appropriate time for it.

Guess where I am going? Come on, folks, give it your best. No, not you Funder, you already know. This one is good, for real.

THE LOONEY BIN! I am going to the looney bin! Unfortunately, I am not going to be checking in for the nice vacation I so richly deserve.

I have some legit bidness at the juvenile correctional facility where the juvenile sex offenders and mentally ill children are kept. Here is my disclaimer: I am not in any way making lite or fun of anything that I see there. In fact, I think it will be hard to see, and I am worried I might cry, so I am going to do what I always do and make fun of it.

There are good parts to this: 5 hour drive BY MYSELF. However it is raining which kind of sucks a bit. I do not care--I may cross paths with Amy who in in S'field for some legal bidness today (down from Chicago) and hook up for a drink or something. Then I motor on a few more hours to my hotel, where I shall work out at the gym and order pizza and watch TV. I will not feed a dog, or a horse, or a pig. I will do nothing I do not want to do. Go me!

Tomorrow is the big visit at the facility, then I will come home. If this is anything like when I visit mentally ill clients, I will have some interesting observations and stories to tell (not specific ones, obviously, as that would be a violation of attorney client privilege and I dont roll like that). If I get lucky, I will see someone with as many quirks as the General who I visited in the adult looney bin years ago and is one of the best stories in history.

Barry showed up unexpectedly last nite. That is always swell. I was working late until almost 7 to get things done in case they keep me at the looney bin--I would hate to leave my client's hanging. So we ...get this.....something you rarely hear up in here.....we went to the GYM! HE ran 3 miles and I took up with my favorite leg machine, who I love. I got carried away and my legs are a little shaky today. Feels good, and a nice kickstart to my new program of less rage, more exercise.

He is gone again today, and will probably not be back until Saturday nite, while I am working a ranch sorting for Hutch. Then he leaves again Sunday, to go to Lake of the Ozarks for work--at least it is not summer, or that would make me very jealous. He is working his tail off lately, which is nice for the OT it brings in for the holidays.

What else do I have for you? Ah, here is the public service announcement of the day.....you should really google yourself. I do it occasionally, but it has been awhile--I see that some syndicated articles about me no longer turn up--that is interesting. But not the point of the story. Today, we googled some man for a woman in the office, then we googled my friend Rita. She had NEVER googled herself. Now that she has, she knows that she is being sued by a crazy client for TWO MILLION bucks, in the federal court. This is the first she has heard of it and she is tickled to death. She is having a week like me-the trash truck tore up her garage when picking up her trash and now she is being sued for two million bucks. Whatcha gonna do but laugh?

Since I will be out most of the day, on my trek to lunacy, I fully expect you people to be lined up to entertain me when I finally get to the hotel tonight--I want some good blog posts for me to catch up on. I am having fun checking out the blogs of new people who are visiting me and leaving comments--thanks everyone for visiting! It does my black heart good.

Paige, I know I've only been reading your blog for a couple of days, but do you do horse therapy with the kids?

My brother was in a residential program many years ago, and this was very effective.

Oh, and I work with these kinds of kids daily. Fun times!

must be that you are seeing okay today and got the peppermint coconut out of your eyes.

The visit to the looney bin will be a double bonus, new stories, interesting peeps and A DAY AWAY FROM YOU-KNOW-WHO.

Barry will not be home on Friday to help with the loading, huh? Well it is only 2 days away....does a little happy dance!

Don't let them lock you up in there. It will not be a fun vacation I promise.

I updated my blog... I got new shoes. That is always exciting. Ok, not really, but they are cool shoes.

I cannot believe you are going to be in Chicagoland and not tell me!

Hope your eye is better

Good for you on the gym - just don't overdo it at first (I know, I know, you're obsessive-compulsive behavior takes over!)

OH! Paige-----Is it the Looney Bin or rather the Funny Farm? ? ?

After all "they" are farmed out to learn to live----like those ----dogs, horses and pig.

You will do a fantastic job. Trained as a lawyer for PEOPLE and trained as a--- HMMM--- trainer for animals.

They get TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE
Enjoy Carol
