More dirt

Evidently after the mud dries up, it turns into dirt.

Every single photo I have taken lately has the subject covered with dirt.
Now that I have posted this pic, I see that it makes his legs look funky. They are not, they are as straight as pins- he is just standing funny. I was focusing on the dirt on his head, that looks like white markings--really he is just covered in dirt, like everyone else.

I love the way he glows when the sun hits him

I didn't really notice the dirt. I noticed the short depth of field from the lens used. Was this a telephoto?

YEs it was, taken from the road standing on teh bumper of my car to get over the fence, and taken all the way as close up as I can get with the 300mm lens.

I get depth of field kinda, but I dont get "short depth of field". Educate me please, O Master
