Quotes for today

"Just because your voice reaches halfway around the world doesn't mean you are wiser than when it reached only to the end of the bar."
Edward R. Murrow
This is a good thing to keep in mind with all of us spending so much time on the internet. Have you ever noticed how many people are not in real life what they portray on the internet? For some reason, being all over the place spouting off their "wisdom" seems to give them some sort of legitimacy. We all forget that just because someone says something more places, more often and more loudly (so to speak), does not indicate that someone actually knows what they are talking about. I have to remind myself of this quite a lot, and you would think I would know better by now, having often fallen for a load of crap on the internet.
A pretty deep one:

"Irrationally held truths may be more harmful than reasoned errors."
Thomas H. Huxley
How many of us keep doing the same ol thing because that is what we have always done? I know I do sometimes. My new goal is to think more about why I am doing what I am doing, and I hope that by doing so, I will learn more, think more clearly and accomplish bigger things
And I leave you with this one just for fun:

"If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions?"
Scott Adams
