I tried to post this once, and it froze up my computer and I had to shut down. Hmm...how bout that--dissension among the ranks is stopped just before publication. Now I really sound insane.
As humiliating as it is to admit, I actually voted for this fool. Here we are on August 7, 68 days past the start of the fiscal year and still no budget. Today in the paper, Blago is quoted as saying that August 8 is an arbitrary deadline, contrary to the Comptroller's assertion that if the budget is not signed by then, he will not be able to pay 4,900 state workers, or send the first round of money to schools who are supposed to open in the next few weeks. What does Blago know about it? Bet he is getting paid. After all, this is the same man who emailed a letter to all of us begging us to keep working lest we cause a government shutdown. Why is that my problem? I am doing my job, it is him and his enemies that cannot get along well enough to do their stinking jobs.
I am beginning to think that he is so obnoxious about refusing to compromise on anything that if you told him he can have everything he wants, then out of habit, he would say NO.
That may be the truest statement I have heard all day, since the politicians are getting paid and I am not.

You can bet your sweet ass he'll still get paid - he doesn't give a damn about anyone else.
It really is ridiculous - I heard that they are going to offer no interest loans for the schools to get started until they get their money - what a HASSLE that will be for them - I bet half don't do it - because its too much work and full of red tape -
Sad, sad, sad.... He should go work for Barnum Bailey....
PS - My Bro is a state worker in IDOC and he's in the same boat -
I can not believe they have not reached a solution they could all live with. If the budget was such a big deal to all them hypocrites, why didn't they start working on it last year that way, they could of hashed out all of their differences and made the deadline!
How is everyone feeling there in your department? Are they ready to walk or keep working for free and get paid back later?
By the way, love that picture.
That is what makes me crazy--it is not like we had anything different happen thatn ever before--the fiscal year runs July 1- June 30 EVERY YEAR. This did not sneak up on them, they are all just too stubborn. Bloho is a sitting duck anyway, so I guess he figures he has nothing to lose.
The loans to schools makes me even madder--the pressure from things being delayed for the schools would be a gerat motivator for these legislators and Bloho, but if they do it this way, that pressure is gone. And what about everyone else who won't be able to buy school supplies etc--who is going to loan them money?
We do not have the option of not working without losing our jobs and the Agency line is that we will get paid eventually. Great. That makes NOW so mcuh better
STICK IT TO THE TAXPAYERS saying by Carol
And that is exactly what will happen. The schools won't have their money, will have to borrow, pay the interest, then ask taxpayers for more money to run the schools in a referundum cause they are running in the "red".
Geez wonder why! ! 1
One way or another Illinois folks are going to pay for "Slavodan Blogovitch's "trips.
