Well not little known by you people that really know me, but for the rest of the world it will probably come as a shock. I actually have a job, and one that I have said for years is perfect for me and that I will never leave til they carry me out in a box.
But SOMETIMES, they push their luck with me.
Today's email:
To all employees:
(The Big Kahuna) has requested that I send this email to inform employees that our office will remain open and that you should report to work as usual. Even if the Governor orders a shutdown, we are under the Courts and will remain open. We are confident that you will be paid for your work.
Thank you.
Does this inspire confidence? I worry about things like Mastercard. Will they be swayed by my plea to not screw up my credit because the Governor of this Fine State cannot do his job and get a budget passed, and thus I did not get paid? I mean honestly, the fiscal year has ended on June 30 for how many years now and these fools act like they are shocked every year that they need to pass a new budget. The extension temporary budget they passed for July expires tonight at midnight, and as far as the news we have heard, they are not even close to passing a new one. How long am I expected to work for nothing? No matter how confident the powers that be in this agency are that we will get paid, I would like to know who is doing the paying since the Comptroller works for the State as well and won't be around to pay me unless a budget is passed.
Really. WTF?

OMG...that is absolutely ridiculous! Is the governor going to work for free too?!? I think not!
Hell no, he even has us picking up his tab for daily flights from Chicago to Springfield because he cannot be bothered to live in the Governor's Mansion. Evidently hotels are beneath him as well
Makes me sick
It will all work out, they need you all there. Dave goes through this every year at the VA Hosp they always wait and wait and wait to approve the budget.
Yes, WTF is right. They'll get it worked out - they always do - but it usually takes shitting on the little guy first to get the job done. Jerks.
And you will not believe what my boss just said--what difference does it make if we get paid late? WTF? My $600 truck payment due the 16th depends on that paycheck being on time, and a training bill due on that date....he is evidently shocked that so many people do not have thousands of dollars stockpiled for things like this. Not when hay is costing what it costs and I am feeding 40 plus horses, I don't.
And the stress alone is ridiculous
Paige, "Bag of shit" as my son calls him (governor ? ? ? ) is in the same boat with you. He "works" for the State too down in Williamson Cty, for the Conservation Dept.
Can you guys get a different boat and then sink the "Bags" ? ? ?
Carol
Typical government BS. Wait and wait. I hope they settle it all soon.
