This is Tequila on her last day, which was yesterday. She looks pretty good in this picture, but in reality, this is one of the few times she has been up and moving around by choice lately. We put her down this morning around 11 a.m.
Look at her silly face. I forget about that wonky eye until I see pics.
She was in pretty good shape yesterday, I thought. Until last nite, when it hit me like a ton of bricks that she was not okay and was never going to be okay again.
I am glad I got these pictures yesterday. I need them to replace the picture in my head of her at the vet.
At least she enjoyed her last day, with good weather, and Barry home to see her.
We did not know how old she was, as we only had her two years, but conservative estimates put her at least nine or ten years old. That is very old for a Dane, but the speed at which her hips gave out on her shocked me. She never complained of pain, but even the five pain pills a day she was on stopped helping her willingly get up and walk around. She just got so weak.
RIP Tequila. I miss you already

I know you have heard this lots today but I am so sorry that you lost Quila.
She made a great choice when she walked into your yard two years ago. From what you said about her condition when she got there, she lived the life of luxury at your house...pampered and loved probably beyond anything she had ever dreamed of before.
You and Barry will forever be her guardian angels and there will be a special place in heaven for you both when you get there to meet up with her and those that went before her.
HUGS to you both!!!
what a grand girl she was, and how lucky for her to have lived with you and Barry.
hugs to both of you, and God Speed Tequila.
I'm so sorry, Paige. My heart just breaks for you, and I'm sending lots of good thoughts and prayers yur way.
Stories and love abound about Tequila from you and Barry.
Those memories will help time to heal. Quila will be busy upstairs reacquainting herself with old friends and meeting new ones.
Take care------Carol
So sorry Paige. (((hugs)))
May she rest in Peace.
I hope your heart heals swiftly and your tears dry quickly.
Oh Paige, I'm so sorry to hear this. You & Barry had her for two beautiful years. She loved you for that.

Sorry to hear of your loss. RIP Tequila. I'm sending (((hugs ))) your way.
So sorry Paige.
I'm so sorry for your loss. The joy of having animal family members in our lives helps temper the sadness we feel when they don't outlive us.
OH Paige, I'm so sorry to hear this...She sure was a beauty, and I do love the pictures of her...You and Barry were so great to her and I am so sorry that you had to watch her in such pain...Thoughts and prayers your way...
So sorry Paige. I know how hard it is to lose a beloved dog. I still miss Duke with all my heart and I only had him a year. But he made a huge impression on my heart.
Just know you made Tequila's last years the best ever and she's watching over you with that wonky eye from above!
You did good by her, Paige. She was lucky to have you. Hugs to you.
Aww Paige I'm so sorry. She was adorable. Wonky eye and all.

My sympathy goes out to you Cuz. Take great comfort in knowing that you gave Tequilla so much love the last two years and made her so happy. You are truly a very rare soul to give so much of yourself to your animals. You are a good Mama! Love you and loved the pics.

I'm so sorry to hear about Quila...she was so lucky to have found a wonderful home with you and BS for the last 2 years though...but, she'll be watching over you from doggie heaven!!!
HUGS!!!!
My condolences on Quila, Paige; rescue is one of the most selfless things you can ever do, and the most heart-breaking. You gave her a good life while she was with you, that's what really counts.
I'm so, so sorry Paige. I know how rough it is to lose a pet... especially when your pets are more like children. Tequila was lucky that you gave her the last happy 2 years of her life. She couldn't have asked for a better mom!
I'm sorry I'm so late hearing about this. My condolences on your loss. I'm sure you made her life extremely happy for the last 2 years. You were lucky to have found each other.
Awwww, she was so pretty. I am so sorry...we have an old Lab, and lately, more and more, he doesn't bother to get up and come in the bedroom to sleep with us-just stays where he landed in the early evening. I'm dreading the end. At least Tequila had an awesome last few years with you guys!
Paige, I am very sorry to read this. I know how much you loved her.
