I am amazed at how much easier life has gotten due to the technology we have available to us. I have had the great girls weekend with Jackie, Jodi and Lorna, and came home exhausted. Of course, there was plenty waiting for me to tend to when I got home.
Not that I did much of it of course. I did some laundry, made some lasagna, and then paid bills online. That one thing makes my life so much easier than it used to be--being able to get things done when I think of it, instead of when I get home from work or when I find the bill, etc, keeps me from missing deadlines. That is not new technology though, I just really like it.
Tonight, while watching the Apprentice, I kept an eye on Melody in her stall via the foalcam and the trusty ol internet. Now I am at the farm, in the new trailer, watching TV and typing this up, while watching her on the internet some more. She is getting closer for sure--her vulva is lengthening which is a good sign things are getting very close--it could well be tonight.
Since I have been here and gotten settled, I made my claim with the insurance company about my lost Blackberry. I put it on top of the car while I was hanging out here with Jenna Friday after work, and then I drove off like that--she has not been seen since. I intended to call the phone company about it tomorrow from work, since clearly I have no phone here to use--until it dawned on me that I could probably do that online. Ta-da--all done now. One more thing knocked out.
I am feeling quite productive and like I am not starting out the week already behind the eight ball. That is a rare feeling around here, for sure, but I am a fan of it.
On top of all that, I was craving a bottle of water but had little faith there was any cold water here. Not only is there cold Diet Coke in the fridge, there is ICE CREAM! Mint chocolate chip, and peach flavors. And pizza. And tator tots, for pete's sake.
Now that is a good use for technology--I have come a hell of a long way from foalwatch last year when I would sleep in the steel- three horse trailer, whose a/c could never keep up and if I wanted to have some entertainment, I had to watch DVDs. And I had no bathroom
This is definitely the way to live.

Hey, While exhausted----you sound postitively great, exhiliarted and raring to "get it on"
Horse Student: Can anyone watch the foalcam?
Enjoy Carol
so let me see.
you are warm.
you are dry.
you have internet access (a very high priority for me)
you have food.
and you have a bathroom.
AND you get to watch for a new baby.
Life doesn't get much better does it????
That Blackberry thing? Sounds like something I would do. totally, totally, totally.
xox
I love being able to pay bills online for that exact reason- I can do it right away instead of having to sit down, find a stamp and an envelope, etc. That being said, I still have quite a few bills that I can't pay online. Archaic!
Keep us posted on the foal watch!
ooo. you lucky girl.
that sounds like an absolutely delightful way to wait for a baby. i remember the old days of walking to and from the barn ... and to and from the barn ... all. night. long.
or attempting to camp it out in the stall next door.
and always ...
running inside for something and bam! there's a baby as soon as you get back.
but there is nothing quite like watching your horse give birth. it's phenomenal.
enjoy.
I can only hope you didn't eat all that junk.
Love you,
Mom
Sounds like a busy yet exciting time! Can't wait to see the first pics of the new baby!!! You should have a contest: colt or filly!?
P.S. Your mom's comment cracked me up! ;)
