Here is Slater enjoying his nite in a hotel --I have never known a dog to love a hotel like this one does. He is an old pro at living it up with pizza delivery and room service.
We usually do not make a big deal about Valentine's Day, but this year it happened to coincide with some other stuff, and so we ended up with a little more in the way of festivities.
We came to St Louis, where we are spending the nite in the same hotel we stayed in the night we got engaged. I do not remember what it was called then, but now it is the Crowne Plaza in Clayton. We ran errands on the way, like getting Slater's nails done, and the best thing--getting my real computer back! YAY--but now of course it is acting up.
We had a great Italian dinner, with a bottle of champagne, which somehow caused Barry to shatter his champagne flute. I have no idea how or why that happened.
Next we went to an art showing in Soulard. It is called Naughti Gras---it is a show of erotic art. See about it here . It was very interesting to say the least, and people who know me in real life will be laughing their fool heads off at me going to such a thing, but I have to admit that it was interesting. I thought there might be a little more performance art than there was, but there was just one exhibit where people were painting some dude green while he was wearing just a banana hammock. The place was packed though--live music, and about five rooms packed with paintings, photography, sculptures, and other stuff I cannot even begin to describe.
Tomorrow is our annual doggy outing with Slater--the Mardi Gras dog parade. It is so much fun, and I will have great pics...so come back soon to see them.
Meanwhile, I have to figure out where I am going to sleep in this bed here--look at what is going on in it as I type this.
And I have no idea why Barry is making such a mean face at me--it may have to do with me flashing him with the camera while he is trying to sleep. Men can be so fussy.
Happy Valentine's Day everyone--hope it was a good one!

Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours and then throw in your Mardi Gras events too.
Ours was the usual kind of day.
Have fun at the parade and I hope the weather is/was nice
enjoy Carol
First, Slater has his very own red satin pillow on which to rest his head - awesome.
Second, so B broke his stem - makes it seem he's all fiery & unpredictable. Sexy on VDay. He propbably did it on purpose to impress you.
Besides, it's always the bowl part of a liquor glass that's more important and I see that he could finish that hooch off just fine while calling for a new glass. Obviously faulty.
Third, where exactly did he take you for this romantic italian dinner where one both drinks champagne from fluted glasses and colours on the paper table cloth in orange wax crayon?
Kind of throws a little cold water on the sexy - but then again, enough champagne would fire it up again....
Sounds like a great night!
Can't wait for todays pictures...
Slater could not care less, but Barry sure looks like he's growling at you!
sounds like a great, great day. uh, except for the broken glass........
Aw :D I LOVE hotels... I don't know why. I just do.
And I love how there is some nice crayon art under the fancy champagne :D
