Due to the nature of the weekend, I am still in no condition to be blogging --I have to recover first. There are a lot of pics to go through. But lest it get lost in the re-telling, I want it known that that I am still the boss of blackjack. It is the only vice I have ever had that I have successfully beat down. I almost never play, because I like it too much, and with my addictive personality, I should not indulge things I like that cost that much. I did not go with the group on Friday, as I did not think I had enough willpower to not play two nights in a row, and I knew Mandy wanted to go when she got there Saturday nite.
I only played a little on Saturday nite, but I managed to double my money, which covered Barry's losses and the bar tab. That was swell
This is the Mississippi River, and yes I know it is crazy that it looks that blue, when really it is muddy brown. It was a beautiful day though and just one of the photos turned out like this as opposed to the mud color. Very strange
It is hard to believe that the river used to be so nice that my parents water-skiied in it when they were little. I cannot imagine willingly getting in that water now.
On the way out today, we went by miles and miles of cotton fields that were ready to be harvested but were not yet.
I always forget about the cotton when I have not been there in a while. It is such an odd crop, looking like popcorn blowing in the wind.
And on that note, I have to go to bed.
Stay tuned for re-enactments of the weekend, to come tomorrow

good photos!
wow i LOVE those cotton pix-awesome
I love the cotton, it is indeed a strange crop
I've never seen cotton in a field. Very neat.
Actually, the Mississippi probably wasn't any cleaner or safer way back when. We just didn't know any better, therefore, we didn't care.
Your pics are great. Lynnette sent some, too, which included some very good ones of you and Barry.
Thanks for making the weekend complete.
Love you too much,
Mom
Beautiful pics. Strange, we have one good sized cotton field over on the Paris Highway and it always looks pretty.
Kind of expect to see "Scarlett and her pickers" out there.
My day is crazy too. Carol
