Weekly Hammer checkup

Actually, it has not been a week. But, while we were gone, Hammer and Rondee got to play together in the front pasture for the weekend. He was trailing part of the wrap when we returned, but there is no way of knowing how long it had been like that. I don't think very long. In any event, I left it open for Dr M to see this morning. He told me to quit with my home remedy and explained why (which made sense but I had not thought of--that is why that medical degree is worth more than my big ideas), but was pleased with how it looked. He is back in his wraps tonight and back in the stall since it is muddy gross again, but he will be turned out while we are on vacation. I bet he will be cured when we get home.

He is just such a handsome boy, and has for the first time gotten a little butt high. I measured him and found him to be a hair under 13'3" at the hip and almost 13'2" at the withers. That does not concern me, especially at this stage of the game--it was just interesting to me that he finally got a little out of whack.
I am just floored every time I deal with him, he has come such a long way. It is very satisfying.

It would look like that without doing what I have been doing, he says--without screwing up something else.
