Since I started wondering about the girls closest to foaling, I went into a full blown panic. That is how I do. So I went to the back pasture to give some PK1 shots, and check out the bellies on those girls. Everyone of them looks different than I anticipated---the girls who have foaled before look leaner to me, the maiden mares are kind of a crap shoot--and it is entirely possible I am looking for more than I should EXPECT to see at this stage of the game.
The earliest to foal are Melody and Hotrod and there is no doubt about them. Foxy would be next, but I think that is not going to happen.
Then it would be Gypsy and Aries, both maidens. They are so cute---Gypsy is not as roly poly as I thought she would be, but she sure is cute! This is so not a good picture, as I was standing downhill from her, and she suspected she was getting a shot--thus the evil eye she is giving me.
She is due Mid-April.

I really like this little mare! I guess after looking at all these and trying to figure out what criteria you and Melissa are using, I would have to agree filly. Dun filly. :)
