Interesting tidbits of news

Yesterday we had a visit from our Poland connection--he is in the US for a few days on a buying trip and stopped by for a while. He brought a customer with him, one that we have not done business with, which was really interesting. I am confident that I spoke to him a few minutes before I realized that he speaks only Polish and not a lick of English. How insulting that must have been for him.

Anyway, the connection gave me some updates on Genuine Appeal. She is still at Green Valley Ranch, where she did not make their first show string. That is disappointing, but also some damned stiff competition there. I had heard that her new owner had her bred, and Chris believed he had her bred to Lil Ruf Peppy. That did not seem like the right cross to me, knowing her like I do. Once she returns to Poland however, she is going to be shown, which makes me feel better. It seems a shame to waste all that training and not finish it.

Chris called later in the afternoon and left me a message that he had been wrong about the breeding. She is bred to Wimpys Little Step instead. http://wimpyslittlestep.com/pages/stallion.html

Now that cross I like---that seems like a perfect matching of characteristics to me. And as hot as the Wimpys are, that baby may show up next to her in the show pen someday! Of course, it will be a European show pen, but still it is very cool.
