Aries is improving

This is a strange mare---while in full time training, she maintained her body condition quite well. She comes here, lives the life of leisure and eats full time while doing absolutely nothing---and goes to pot. I swear these horses live to torment me.

Now, when everyone else is struggling with the heat, she is actually starting to gain weight! She still has quite a ways to go to be where I would like to see her, but just two or three weeks ago, she looked HORRID and I was convinced I should call the Hooved Animal Humane Society on myself. Then bam- she starts porking up.

Just goes to show that all the planning, fretting and worrying over one of them serves only to make me feel better--when she was good and ready to look better, she did. Now let's all pretend we did not notice so that she will continue to improve and build that wonderful Slybaby she is cooking for us!

She looks fabulous! This is the first time I've seen her in person so hard for me to tell the difference - but, she looks great!

I need to dig up the pics I took a couple of weeks ago to compare--she looked like HELL. I am pleased with this. Very pleased.

I am also pleased that bone chip or not, she has not taken a lame step since she got here. We should put Bree on her when she is here next time, if Aries is not too fat yet---she is a moving machine!

Bree would love that! You know - she's still waiting for you to ask her to break out midgey...
