The first thing of note tonight is that there is almost no lameness. Just a hair maybe, which is good I guess, but considering he is on 1 gram of Bute at 9:30 am or so, and another 12 hours later, I guess it is to be expected. Then again, it would not be strange for him to hurt through it and he just does not.Well I can see right now that my plan to contrast and compare each side by putting the pics next to each other is not going to fly, since this stupid thing won't let me format it how I want to. Please excuse the quality of them as well, as it started raining and we had to move fast to get it done at all.
The swelling is definitely changing..both in the way it feels, and the way it looks. It seems to be moving back a little on the underside of his torso, and then is jiggly on his chest toward the right.
His neck also looks really crazy, it is not long and giraffelike, and he is not normally ewe-necked in anyway.

I don't know what to say. It is off for sure. It looks "sunk in" is how Doyle described it.
His chest muscle looks off too - way larger on the injured shoulder side.
Is the swelling down enough that he can go for x-rays yet?
A massage therapist may be able to tell you about some muscle work you can do for him - maybe along his chest, the rib cage and along his top line to help him cope with the sore shoulder. I know with my shoulder being very sore all the time, my neck and back and ribs are always sore....and I sure don't walk on my "hands" like he has to.
And you are right - a chiropractor is not the way to go until you know if there is no break.
Keep us all posted and we are for sure thinking of you and sending good healing vibes your way.

Down the road maybe, but definitely the structural issues, if there are actually any, have to be taken care of first. Otherwise, his muscles could get in the way of proper healing.
The swelling is still pretty severe. Where it looks like the chest muscle is so much bigger---that is actually swelling. Very hard, but swelling.
The strangest thing about all of this is that he does not appear to have any pain at all. It is just unfathomable to me, but I have poked, prodded, pulled, twisted and yanked and he just looks at me like I have lost my mind.
He looks even to me. The way his neck muscles are waisting is just wierd. He has to be in some sort of discomfort to not be using these muscles. I hope you can get some answers soon.
I thought so too, Kristine, on the evenness thing. That was a HUGE relief to me, but I needed someone else to see it too to believe it.
The neck is realyl crazy isnt it?
I am going to do regular ole profile shots tonight to show the whole picture
