As far as the eye can see

There Shall be fence. Fence fence and more fence. Forever and Ever Amen.

Tonight starts the Great Fence Building Debacle of 2007. Barry's brother Jeff is coming down to help--this will be his first Onn-A-Wym Farms building project. Other brother Zach, on the other hand, has been a building fool. He will put up a lean-to in a weekend, that one will, but he is studying for summer classes and cannot get away. Maybe we finally wore him out?

In any event, Jeff arrives at 7 tonight or so, then he and Barry have to fetch 150 railroad ties and get them home. This will be no normal fetching as they will not be loaded in bundles, but picked up one by one by hand. Tomorrow morning, the post-hole digging starts bright and early, and post-setting commences.

At least the ground will be a little softer than usual, since it has rained all this week. Hopefully my tractor will have some sort of energy in the morning and get me through a little bushhoggin--but I don't hold out much faith on that. I have to think of something to do so I don't have to help with the fence debacle--those sorts of projects lead to some serious animosity between Barry and I.

Aren't BS & Jeff going to need you to drill some holes for them with the tractor? That is what my job usually is when we are building fence, oh I hate building fence.

Take pictures so we can see it come together in stages.

This right here is a bone of contention. Normally, that would be the case, but our tractor hydraulics are currently in the crapper, awaiting medical attention.
We asked Hutch to come help us with his tractor, but he has three different reasons at least as to why that cannot happen--one of the best ones being that it takes at least two people to drill the holes straight. That is one of my favorite as I am sure that BS, Jeff, Hutch and me adds up to four, but maybe there is something wrong with me.

It is way more fun to spend MORE money renting the special auger thingy from the rental place.

There will be pics of this in every stage, as we may need them fro the trial that will surely come after an altercation takes place--I just hope BS does not wear that same gray sleeveless running shirt that he seems to wear in every pic I want to post of him. People might think I don't dress him!

Too funny! Sounds like you've got a good weekend planned!!! Wish I could be there, then you and I could drink beer and watch BS and Jeff build the fence - that sounds like a much better plan with fewer lawsuits!

I wish you were here too--we would have way more fun, but I suspect little fence would get built!

So it looks like all parties survived the weekend and you got lots of holes dug. Building fence is hard work and I try and avoid it at all cost but when it has to be done it has to be done...
