Am I a real farmer?

Since I grew these things?

I bet not, since I did not mean to, but I LOVE my pumpkin babies. They are so cute, and they seem to double in size every day. I have one bigger one, and then a bunch of babies. The mack daddy pumpkin cracks me up, I bet he weighs every bit of four pounds.

I guess the landscaping is not the best place for pumpkins to grow, but that is where they are. Every time I walk through the front door, I start laughing

That is so cool, did you all throw out some seeds last year and they grew this year? We had watermellons growing all over our yard one year from the seeds the kids spit out the summer before. It was a cool surprise but made mowing the yard hard.

Landscape! ! !Out front door! ! ! Whaattt! ! ! !

However they are beautiful plants and flowers and in this drought, so pretty and enjoyable. Will you be able to wait till fall for harvesting? Heheh. and then Faces ! ! !

Bottom line: how did you end up planting, growing these guys?

One year I had a huge pumpkin....in the FRONT yard! I had put down newspaper in the fall to kill the grass and weeds. the only thing I had to weigh the papers down were the pumpkins I had used for the Halloween display and I never gave it another thought. In the spring, I had this vine-y thing growing and decided to just let it go......and got The Great Pumpkin! I (and all the neighbors were amused and surprised that the kids didn't touch it. We carved it that year as a centerpiece for our neighborhood Halloween Party.

The same way Holly did, Iguess. I wanted a pumpkin patch but Barry would not make me one. However, he also did not throw away the pumpkins from aour fall decorations, so they just laid there in the landscaping.

Guess that was enough!

Now here is something I dont understand. The big one gets bugger every day, I will take a picture of him. But the smaller ones do not get bigger, and sometimes, they disappear altoghether. one of them is getting mushy.

What is up with that?

I want them to get HUGE, but I dont know how to take care of them

Let's hope the good luck holds out Carol, I am psyched for them. My plane leaves at 7:30 tonight, so I will hold my breath until we see if it works for tomorrow's event(s)!

Too funny Paige. I was wondering if the new pumpkin patch was from the pumpkins that you had out last year or not. They sure do make a pretty plant don't they? I love the little flower they have. It's kind of pretty. :D I bet if you threw some horse poop on them they'd grow bigger. But then again, you may end up with a lot of weeds too. Not necessarily the best solution. I know, how about WATERING them? LOL

Yep--that is the beginning of the pumpkin patch--lack of initiative to clean up last year!

I have been watering, and the mack daddy pumpkin is MASSIVE. I bet he weighs 20 pounds now, but I am confident he is a cannibal. All the baby pumpkins disappear.

Very distrubing. Barry is calling him Hannibal

I kind of love him anyway.
