She arrived yesterday afternoon just as I got home. A monsoon set in right after it, so I hustled her in to the barn and had to dry her up with towels. I think maybe the rain shrunk her! She is tiny tiny, just 34 inches at the withers, but spunky. She is a little contracted (OK, a lot on one foot), but it is already coming down and she will be re-evaluated by the vet on Friday. I am a little anxious as we have never had one quite like this, and have only had one minor contraction ever, so I am not very experienced. Guess I will be soon enough huh?
I wonder if perhaps she was breach, as mama Snap is pretty bruised and sore. They are getting a lot of special attention right now, which I am not sure they particularly enjoy.
I feel like foaling season went by in a rush and I missed a lot of things. I am going to savor this baby girl, and take good care of Snap so she can enjoy it instead of aching her way through recovery from a rough foaling.
Surely I will have better pics soon, as these sure don't represent her well. I look forward to seeing her catch up with her head!

How is she doing now? Are the wraps off of her? Is she moving better? How is Momma?
Just perfect! Her wraps were only on for about 48 hours, and she was swell when they were removed. Mom is all healed up and cleared for breeding on her foal heat, which is happening now. Now baby girl's biggest problem is a chapped ass!
I adore her, she is something
