I think not! Everywhere but here evidently, we are just having a monsoon. Of course we are, things had just dried out!
Yesterday was one of those days where everything went wrong. Everything.
I had the day off for a state holiday and when I got to the farm, Lucky was laying in front of the gates, curled up in her blankey, looking pretty content. I guess someone forgot to latch her stall gate. I got her up and she was dead lame on her hind left leg, but I think it was just asleep as she was fine a few minutes earlier.
I put her up, fed that row of horses and noticed there were yearlings and some two year olds in the wrong pastures. And donkeys in pens where they have no business being. There was a whole row of panels down and I guess they played musical pens.
I thought that would be the hard part of the day, but sometime later, some yahoo plowed into our entryway fencing and took that and a pine tree out. He did leave us some nice truck parts though- a side mirror and a light shroud. I am pretty sure I cannot trade that in for new fencing, and I sure cannot rebuild that fence with frozen ground during a monsoon. Evidently he either backed up and then rammed the pasture fence, or he had an equally drunk buddy who hit another part of the fence. There does not appear to be much damage there thank goodness, or I would have big fat broodmares in the road.
Hopefully today will go a little more smoothly----assuming it does not all float away, that is.
I put some new photos on the website, and more are going up soon- especially on the fun photos page.....stay tuned!
