This week, every day, I am going to try to write about something that makes me happy. That will make me think about things that make me happy, so that I will then GET happy. I am normally pretty happy, if generally outraged, but this Tequila thing is tearing me up, and I am not going to allow it to choke me. Thus, the improve-my attitude plan.
Today's topic is Boogie. I love this picture I took of Boog this week. He looks so much like Sly to me in this shot, and that is always a good thing. Maybe it is the way he is standing, and maybe no one else can see it, but I see it loud and clear.
His leg is healing beautifully. Ignore the nasty pecker gnats that flocked to him as soon as I took off his wrap to re-medicate him today--they are gross. But his leg looks great, and he is being such a good boy when I have to change his dressing. The difference between his demeanor at this time last year, when he was just home from training, and now is remarkable. You would not know it was the same horse.
Obviously, his leg is not bothering him. It never really did, but he was having so much fun playing today while we built fence, that he made me laugh.
Again with the Sly imitation. Freaky
This one is even more Sly like. It is so interesting to see his babies grow up, and see the similarities in them. That cocky look on his face is all his daddy.

Boogie is staying in the front pasture with Diablo and Aries and their babies, and has taken a liking to Spike. They battle all the time, it is so funny to watch. From a distance, you would think Boog was Spike's mother, the way Spike follows him all over the pasture. They pick on each other like little kids. I should video it.
Yeah this pic is not good. I don't care, it is already on here.
Boogie looking happy makes me happy. I am glad to see him getting his self-confidence back, and healing so well. It is satisfying.
Added to good Boogie pics today is the amazing thing that happened here--Barry weedeated the farm. And not just a little bit--he weedeated a lot. The new weedeater is a bad ass. Then I Round-uped the areas he had done with the serious business round-up, which I normally hoard like it is free crack, but I was so overwhelmed by all the weedeating that I went a little berserk.
Strange how successful yard work can make a girl so happy.
Lookie there, that is two happy things in one post. I'll be damned.

I am glad you had a better day today.
Boogie sure does look like his daddy. Molson doesn't as much from when he was here last...or at least I don't think.
And I don't notice it with Ding either but then she is never "at alert" when I am out there. She is very laid back.
And yippee for the weedeating. Doyle went crazy here too a couple weeks ago and did all around the shop, the house, the barn, the arena, the hay shed etc. Now to get him to finish around all the machinery crap that is laying in and around the yard.
I love your idea of the "happy day" stuff too.
He is incredible!
I hope you are well...........
Happy things are good things! Keep it going this week.
Every day it will get better.
You should do something with all the flipping experience you have with wrapping and treating leg wounds. You should also buy stock in some wrap company.
It gives a person a certain sense of satisfaction to mow or weed eat and make things look tidy and nice doesn't it? I did that today too.
Love the pictures, he is a beauty!! His wound looks great!! I'm so glad there's no proud flesh growing!!
Happy Week to you too.
Oh,you wrote about such a "happy" experience----weedeating! ! ! !
You are so right---there is something special about looking out into our yard and see "flat ground" around our small trees or bushes and buildings. Weeds all gone, or mowed down. Yeah!!!
Fancy Schmancy golf courses have nothing on any of us . Yours and your friends and mine all look beautiful.
Tuesday's happness is - - - -
Enjoy Carol
Love the Boogie pics. My lovely 2 year old came up yesterday evening with two gashes to her front legs. One pretty nasty. She's like us, always finds something to hurt herself with!
You know this made me smile today. He is my favorite!
The first picture had me fooled. I thought it was of Sly.
Good move on the happies.
Love you,
Mom
