It came! After getting all the wiialerts via text message and emails for weeks on end, I finally tracked one down and it arrived on Friday. I was gone of course and had not told Barry that I ordered one--I wanted to surprise him with it for Valentine's Day. That plan was shot though as he came home on Friday and I did not, and there it was--so I just told him that there would be a surprise there waiting for him.
He of course knew right off the bat that it was really for me. Oh well it was worth a shot to pawn it off as a gift for him.
By Saturday, he had hurt his shoulder boxing on it.
I got home today, and he showed me how to use it tonight--and fell flat on his ass. Bowling for Pete's sake. BOWLING. He scared Simba to death, and she flew up off the couch and hopped on him. I almost peed. Between the two of them, I though the light fixtures were going to be shaken out of the walls.
You know I will be the one to get really hurt though. So far I have only boxed and bowled, but it is really fun. I am not a video game kind of person, so I had my doubts, but I did not want to miss it all if it was really fun, and it so is!
It looks like we might be trapped in this house for a while if this sleet continues, and I am hating missing my workouts-I know that sounds nuts, but it is absolutely true--this will give me something to due for cardio. That boxing can kick a girl's ass, so it will be a good substitute when I cannot get to town. I sound like I live in Little House on the Prairie, with that talk about going to town huh?
Meanwhile, I did this thing---to see about just how addicted I am to blogging. No where near as bad as I thought I would be!

That cracks me UP that your hubby landed on his butt BOWLING on a VIDEO GAME! Guess he was really getting into it!
My sister in law has WiiFit. She's lost 18 pounds since the first of October. I'm about to use the "everyone's doing it" excuse, since I swore I would never get on. But 18 pounds in just over 3 months... Not bad!!
I hope the WiiFit will help lose the baby weight.
We got a Wii for Christmas, and my sister and I played the tennis game on Wii Sports together. Yes, we were a bit competitive, but the next morning, she called me and said "I can't raise my arms above my shoulders" and I tried and neither could I! My right arm especially was KILLING ME the whole next day! LOL Between the tennis and bowling (I haven't tried boxing yet), I can give myself quite a workout.
These days, most of my Wii time is spent playing Mario Kart with my five year old. Who regularly kicks my a** at it, might I add. Even over Christmas, when she was as new to the Wii as I was, she was consistently beating all the adults at the bowling game. My 4 year old nephew, too.... pathetic! :D
Oh, and you know that picture with the warning about not standing too close to players, with the person and the furniture getting hurt and all that? We did in fact have a Wii injury occur because of that. Sad to say, it was me whacking Kiddo straight in the face when she decided to walk *right* behind me as I was taking my turn bowling. I whacked her full force and gave her a lovely lump right next to her mouth. WHOOPS! :( Yeah, that was not a moment I felt like a Good Mommy, even though it was totally an accident.
Anyhow, enjoy your Wiing! Be careful though, as depending on what games you have, you might turn into a Wiidow like I do some nights when Hubby wants to play Call of Duty or Resident Evil or the other "grown-up" games that he can't/won't play when Kiddo is around.................
If you are a 72% blogger than I am a 72% READER. But I enjoy it so.
Oh yeah, we are ICED in too. I am not venturing out ANYWHERE as the experience of going up to Lorna's on Dec. 23 ON ICE is still fresh in my mind. A 7 hour trip turned into 13.
May work on income taxes. Naw! how about knitting, or quilting?
Take care and watch out for those Wi's. they can get you everytime.
Enjoy the prettiness. Carol
Wii's are so much fun!! And falling while bowling!! WHauahahaaa!! I would love to see him bowling in a bowling alley with those slippery shoes on!! LOL!!
I really want a Wii fit. I hear they are awesome!! And I am afraid to take that blogging test. I am afraid mine will be like 100%. LOL
My 5 year old can out bowl me. How pitiful is that? And yes the boxing will beat your ass. I just recently got the Wii Fit and I love it. It's so much fun. And it has aerobics, strength training, yoga, and balance games.
I love my Wii (and wish I could find a Wii Fit but there is not a ONE to be found in my area). It seriously can be as addicting as blogging.
And my addiction to blogging was 91%. That's pathetic...
I am not a video game kind of girl. Then my hubby talked me into getting a Wii. We did....AND I LOVE IT!!
I took the test and I was 68%--I am very disapointed in myself!!
I love our Wii!!
Uhhhh, with a strike of a key I wiped out the farm blahg.....
Do over.

see ya : )
Sounds like a great Valentine for both of you.
Miss you and miss our Tuesdays,
Mom
Okay - so now it is your mission to find the "Beer Pong" game for Wii- no shit - it exists!!!! I found a non-drinking version of the Beer Pong game which is funny, but apparently not as funny as the one where your character gets tipsy if you miss the cups...ha! I also have Wii Fit which is good for balance practice...enjoy - oh and a good game of guitar hero is always fun too!
Be careful... I have heard about several people hurting themselves. It looks like fun though. Maybe if we ever get moved I will get me one!
Poor Barry!
I took that blogging quiz and I am 72% addicted too. Funny.
