Oy vey--tonite was the weigh in for the Lose to Win competition I am competing in for the next two months. Mother of God, that was stressful--good thing they did not take my blood pressure. I am only 12 pounds from the fattest I have ever been, but about 2-7 pounds (depending on how accurate the gym's scale is-they claim it is 5 pounds light), from where I was when I lost 15-17 pounds last year. This is what makes me crazy about having a crappy thyroid--I take up working out, give up most of the beer and get to sick I do not bother to eat and what happens? Not a damn thing.
Argh.
So I went in search of things that are bigger than me. I tried the dogs. While they are bigger than most people, they are not bigger than me. Any combo of 2 of the 3 put together are bigger than me, but that did not make me any happier.
My box of potato chips is almost as big as my front. But not quite. Especially after I ate one of them to make myself feel better.
The amount of laundry I need to put up takes up more room than me--but it does not weigh more than me. Damn it. So I left it where it lay--that will teach it to be less space-consuming than me.
The pig would be bigger than me if he was more than a foot tall. But he is not. So that was a bust.
Then it occurred to me--I took pics on Sunday of my muddy horses, to see if my long lens really is going berserk. I have not looked at them close to see the results of that little experiment, but surely pregnant mares at 6-8 months along have to be bigger than me. Don't they?
Let's see.
This is Cash--my only maiden this year. She is 7, and due on March 13 with a Slybaby. Last year she stole Gypsy's baby when she unexpectedly foaled early and in the wrong place, so I have hopes that she will be a good mama. I am excited as I still remember the day she was born so clearly, and how much her birth was anticipated--so this will be cool.
Right after her, Xan, Mel and Hotrod are due--my old reliables. I hope they do not get jinxed from me saying that--these girls have great babies and are all due within days of each other. I know Sly was breeding them all at the same time for about two -three days, and their ultrasounds pinpointed ovulation pretty close together. I was amazed he could breed four mares at a time, at the beginning of the season, and get it all done. What a man.
Mel looks way bigger than this in real life--she is kinda cute here.
Miss Foxy is due mid-April and is doing a much better job of hanging on to her baby than usual--yay her! Isnt she cute with her belly dragging her middle down? And notice she is the only one that is not absolutely filthy--what is up with that? They all were just groomed really well on New Years Day, and dewormed and were vaccinated--and they must go right out and look for a dang mudhole just to embarrass me. But I show it if only to prove that there is something here that is fatter than me.
Then we get to the mares bred to outside studs--Aries is due in April with a Meradas Blue Sue baby. I took new pics of him in December and do not think I have posted them. I hope the baby is correct and gets his head instead of her plain one.Gypsy is due mid April as well--with a Boonsmal Cee Lena, who I also got good pics of recently. Why have I been dropping the ball so much lately, do you think? She too is fat like me--even more like me than the others, cuz her belly is sticking out on the left side like mine does! I cannot wait to see this one.
Finally, Diablo who is due May 5---with a Highlight Cat baby. I cannot wait to see this one either. I guess that is how I ought to be otherwise, why bother to make them. D is definitely fatter than me. Thank God, I can count on her.
So the game is on to do something about me. I actually walked out of the store without a Jack's pizza that I really wanted tonight but then I ate the damn chips instead so that was not much of an improvement. However, I did eat a vegetable tonight--so that is something.
I am not going to turn into one of those freaks who chronicles all her food--I hate that. Plus it would be embarrassing. I will just be proud of me for going to water aerobics today--where they had a new session that kinda kicked my ass, which is cool. I have court tomorrow so I cannot do a morning class, but will go after work and will try to work in the gym thing. In this fat contest, I get a free membership to another gym, but there were 900 people there today and I do not want any part of that. I will stick with my dirty white trash gym and just complain about it--after all, I cannot fix everything about me in one day!

Mel and Mojo do look a bit alike, did you know that? And Cash is just a beautiful mare. Fat or not....and you would be disappointed if she were not fat at this point. You want a nice, healthy sized foal.
I desperately want to see Xan's baby this year, make sure to take a lot of photos of that one, her color is stunning.
I'm trying to lose 15 pounds this year. Giving up pop and candy, drinking lots of water, so far 5 pounds off, took me 3 weeks, but at least it's a start. Getting sick of walking around home with my pants undone until it's time to go to work!!
There are PLENTY of people fatter than you. Check out your favorite store- - -Wallyworld---in the wheelchair section or as the "young people" motor by.
You are not a Fatty Franny, but a Dedicated Dora who will get the job done in no matter what you do.
Go for it. And I will nag nag too
Enjoy Carol
Now it makes sense why people have horses!! hee hee. It looks like you guys are going to have a busy spring!
I'll admit that yesterday after having a group meeting with our new boss I was feeling pretty down so I went and bought some cookie dough and ice cream. I only ate three (out of 24!) of the cookie dough cookies though. (And no, I didn't cook them, I ate them straight cookie dough)
You are freaking hilarious!! I am going to try my damndest to get healthy this year too.
And 900 people at the gym--WHAT THE?! That is CRAZY!!
Oh my Paige! Your quest to find things bigger than you was quite interesting! Kuddos on eating the chips instead of the pizza. As of Jan 1, I reverted back to my health eating. We're behind ya, can you see us back here?! ;o) Just joshin!
Awww, Paige :( Try to eat right and stick with the exercising and don't stress so much about your weight. Taking care of yourself means more than just fighting with your thyroid, you know.
Hey girl!! I just gave you an award on my blog!! Check it out!! There are no tags or strings attached--just an award!!
Well. I don't know one thing about horses but I do love your pictures and I cannot wait to see pictures of all those babies! Foals. I mean foals. Or colts? Maybe it's colts. Oh, heck.
I am 5lbs less than my highest ever weight (not counting when I was pregnant). Fortunately I am tall and so far the weight is fairly evenly distributed from under my boobs (why won't that extra weight go there?) to above my knees. I have started hiking with a few friends. We try to get out 2 times a week. You know the trails down here in Shawnee, they can be brutal. I feel very sorry for my horse now that I have had to haul my ass up a few of these hills. I really haven't dropped much weight but I think I'm getting in better shape. At least me feet are toughening up.
Come down and hike with us. No beer breaks and we stop once for ~20 minutes or so for lunch. Usually we're out for 3-4 hours...if we don't get lost. :)
I've been trying to lose weight also but instead of pounds I've managed to loose inches off my hips, thighs, and tummy. I guess it's something. It's been a while since I've been over....Lost your blog in the move back to blogger.
They all look great! I can't wait to see baby pics.
Don't feel lonely about the weight. My damn jeans are so tight I can't hardly button them. Of course once we start working again, I will lose some. You will get there!
