DISASTER!

My computer has gone batshit.

It is going to the doctor in the morning, but they think the operating system will have to be completely re-done, and in doing that, I am going to lose every thing.

All my photos are going to be gone.

Everything.

I want to cry.

Hm, really? Your hard drive should be fine and that is where all the goods are unless something really crazy happened. I had my hard drive crash on me twice in my life and it just wouldn't turn on at all. I recommend getting a cheap external hard drive to back stuff up on.. that's what I do because I cried for weeks when I lost everything the second time :(

I've had mine bite the dust but I luckily had connections to a computer savvy genis! He was able to retrieve all my info and put it on a disk. I so hope they can do that for you.

Oh no Paige!! I hope that by some miracle they can at least get your pictures.

My computer is going batshit too. It is actuall cheaper for us to buy a new one than to fix this one.

I was lucky when my hard drive crashed they were able to retrieve everything - even my outlook pst files.

I then too purchased a 'back up drive' - created solely for backups.

Have them really try to get your 'stuff'!

Hope it isn't as bad as anticipated - and its your new computer, yes?

I highly recommend usb drives for photos and whatnot, because this stuff always happens. Sorry to hear it!

OH! I'm so sorry! I hope they can save your stuff.

Sorry to hear about this, get you a backup external drive so you can keep your photos on it.

Oh no no no!! That cant be. It's like a house fire or something. There has to be a way to save the pics. Not to mention all the other data on there.
Do be sure to take it to someone reputable. We've had lots of computer companies here close down and owners going to jail for computer thefts.

Oh no not that!! Not all your beautiful pictures!! I am sooooo Sorry! What happened?? Can't they retrieve anything??(Crossing my fingers)

That recently happened to us, except after leaving the computer virtually untouched (and unplugging it from the internet) I was able to get our pictures off. Whew. Mr. C got me an external hard drive for backup now. I highly recommend it.

Computers! GOOD, BAD AND UGLY.

And the "World" wants EVERYTHING done, transacted, organized, etc. etc. on a computer.

Only to lose everything.! ! !

Sigh! I spent an hour and a half with a "great guy kid" (tech support) trying to "walk me through" setting up a digital frame picture thingee. Unsuccessful!

From one who does not UNDERSTAND THE VOCABULARY of the puter world.

Why wont' someone write a dictionary for those of us who did NOT GROW UP with the &*^%^%( things.

Grumpy Carol, keep warm

any good computer tech worth their salt can save your hard drive information, off to a extrnal drive. well unless you really truly crashed the drive,
