Ah! Right there--that is it!

This may have been one of the funniest experiences of all time. In order to get Sly into the massage therapist more quickly, we decided to take him to her rather than having her drive an hour to me. This was quite clearly a mistake. He was so excited to be somewhere other than home, that he was tense the whole time. He tried so hard to behave, and would start to relax, then remember there were 20 horses there he did not know -then tense up. That kind of defeats the purpose of massage. Next time she will come here and I am sure he will fall asleep during it.
One of the best things is that because we were in the indoor arena of a dressage barn, there are mirrors on two walls. Sly would catch a glimpse of himself and it really turned him on. He would draw himself up to his full height and get very serious admiring himself---I have no idea if he knew that was him in the mirror or if he thought there was another ver
y good looking guy in the arena. He would talk to his reflection, then wait for an answer--which of course, never came. We would get done laughing and move him away from that mirror, and he would see himself in another one--the whole cycle would start again. I think it started to hurt his feelings that no other horse would talk to him.Another very comical thing is that the massage therapist, not being around stallions a lot, was unaware of how much time a stud spends pleasuring himself. It is one of Sly's favorite pastimes, and last night was no different. He did try to pay attention, but you could tell when he would get distracted by his own equipment. I am not getting into the details of what transpired, but suffice it to say that I actually had to sit down in the arena to catch my breath from laughing.

Every once in a while, Jackie would hit a spot on him that he really liked and he would make the craziest faces and contort his body around in the funniest positions. Those made the best photos. The expressions on his face were priceless.
