We had a little company Saturday, horse shopping. I have been trying to hook up with these people for a long time, as we live less than 100 miles apart and have been on the same forum forever.
In any event, they arrived Saturday morning, met the skunks, and started shopping. They picked Hemi, Hotrod's dun filly from this year. I was pretty pleased with her behavior, as we have not yet started Baby boot camp, so she has not been taught to lead reliably (well lets be honest--she has probably been led anywhere less than three times). You could not tell though, as she acted like a lady, haltered and led easily, and did not humiliate me. She was filthy, but that passes.
I have already heard from Lori and John, who say she is settling in well, won't get near the fence (theirs must shock better than mine), and will stalk the dog if he gets in the pasture. She is settling in with their other filly who is just a tad older. They look like they will be a great pair.
I am happy for Hemi. It is always sad when one leaves, but I feel good about this home she is getting. She is to be John's project, and I bet they get along well---they were drawn to her from her photos but when she came to them at the fence, and settled in from some loving, they really liked her. She does not do that to me, and I am the food lady! I guess there was meant to be a friendship between them. That made me feel good about her future with them.
Thank you Lori and John, I am sure she will make you happy. Enjoy her!~

congrats on your sale!
What a pretty girl and she looks like she was taking the trailer in front of her all in stride.
Congrats on finding her a wonderful new owner.
