Who would ever have believed that I could shut up for 5 days? Not me.
I have a good reason though. I left Friday morning to go to Congress with Jodi and Jackie. We met Lorna and Bree in Indy. First thing I learned. Congress is FAR. Mapquest said 6 hours, but I did not believe that applied to me. Well, it did.
We also forgot about the time change until the last minute, so we did not arrive until 4 pm. I already had laughed so hard that my face hurt---it is entirely possible that both Jodi and Jackie could benefit from some mental health attention.
We went straightaway to the Celeste Center to meet more of the group and watch the reining futurity finals. There we met Wendy (NY), Barb (PN), and Coop (Ohio), then Julie and Ashlyn (NC). Ultimately Charlie arrived from Illinois. We stuck that out until around 8 pm and went to Red Lobster. I had not been there in years, and had a great steak but it is those cheddar biscuits that do me in. Jackie says she has the recipe and it is easy enough for me. Yeah right. I was about to collapse from exhaustion before we even got out of the restaurant, so I was asleep early. Some partiers we are huh?
Saturday morning brought more friends. Rob and Nat, and Laurie and Ellen (OH) and Hay, and Vicki and Craig, and Susie and Tim, and Kelley Jo --I know I am forgetting soomeone. We all kind of did our own thing, shopping, etc, all day, then went on an adventure to dinner. The Freestyle reining started at 8 pm, and was fun as always. Stacy Westfall did a demo and she is truly amazing to watch. She must have the strongest butt and legs in America to ride so fast with no tack and her black mare is so pretty. She demonstrated the same thing she did at Road to the Horse in March in Tennessee, which is using the black mare and her dun sister doing things in unison---it is truly remarkable.
We came home Sunday and even though the clock said it took 6 hours, it felt like 10. Barry had been sick all weekend so there were not earth shattering changes here---imagine that. He is better now though.
Another week underway.....and I am home this weekend, even though we had to cancel a trail ride with Shawn and Susan to do it, we just have too much to do before we go on vacation. That part sucks.
As does the inability of my camera to download pics---thus the boring entries.

Sounds like you had fun at the Congress! It is shopping heaven for sure!!! I checked out Satcy Westfall on youtube and she is fantastic! Can not imagine seeing her live. Where are you two headed on your vacation? with horses? :)
Yeah, she is amazing.
We are having our first horse free vacation in seven years or so-- we are going scuba diving in St Martin and St Barts for a week.
I cannot wait!
