CONGRATULATIONS to the 2007 AQHA Bayer Select World Champion Team Penner!
It is not a shock that he won, but the story is made sweeter because Charlie did it on his old mare, Miss Nifty Quixote. She is 25 years old, and she is so push button, that he only brings her out to one or two shows a year to qualify her for the Worlds, then chucks her back out to live the life of leisure.
I love it when an older horse does this well, as it shows how much they still have to give, no matter how old they are, and you cannot beat the consistensy of Miss Nifty. I just love that ol girl. She has been AQHA Reserve World Champion as well.
Charlie also got fourth place on Nick, his Tuckenstein gelding. He has had him about a year and he is a cute red dun gelding that is around 7, I think.
They had a good run in the team sorting as well, but got greedy and as is usually the case, that sunk them. All in all, a great show for Team Hirons!
Isnt the cake cute?I figured out what is wrong with my camera--something inside where the cord to download inserts has been jiggled loose. Thank God it is insured.

That is really sweet and he looks happy. Okay, whose beer bottle is that right in front of the cake? LOL.
His- and I know that because we made fun of him for putting it in the picture and made him move it for the next photo--but that next one came out too dark to salvage. Now everyone knows the real Charlie!

Being in the "over 50" crowd myself, I'm proud of Charlie and I don't even know him.
