Well here it is 2007 and I am bound and determined to quit throwing feed bags on the ground when I empty them into the feed freezer. That is my number one do-able goal for this year.
My second goal is to ride at least two days a week. That is kind of hard to do in the cold that is finally starting here, but I am going to give it a good try. Combined with that is the plan that I will exercise 5 days a week, and those two days count toward the five. I worked out at the gym on Sunday and I am going there as soon as I leave work, so that will be two down.
Now the big question is this----does working horses in the round pen count as exercise? It is not terribly physically strenous to work babies, but it can be! And it definitely requires discipline, which is part of the goal of my exercise program anyway. I think I will let it count, at least until I get in the habit.
The lighting for the new round pen is almost done (New Years Eve got in the way)....we need one more fixture to make it really bright in there, but as with most of our projects, we ran out of parts before the job was done. How that can be when I have spent 250 bucks on lighting etc since last week, I do not know, but there you have it.
If there is enough light to work in there tonight, I will break it in with one of the brand new 2 year olds. Man that sounds wierd---how did my babies get to be TWO?
And even crazier- how did it get to be two and a half months til foaling season? Sly already has his first girl lined up for breeding season--hard to even think about when it is thirty degrees out, but I am sure he will not mind.
