What's the deal with this?

Today on the way to work, I heard on the radio about that Angels pitcher who pitched six innings with no hits. Then he got T-boned by a drunk and killed on the same day.

That is very sad. It really is. I am not so horrible that I cannot see how sad that is.

But is it sadder than all the other people who get killed every day? The ones who are not a sports prodigy? The ones who are just someone's sister, or neighbor? The ones that do not even have a job, and sometimes do bad things?

I don't think so. And none of that makes national news. They are the same kind of dead, and no one outside of their immediate circle even notices.

That kind of pisses me off.

I kinda hear you on this. But, if it takes something like this and money from someone like this to get more campaigns to prevent it then I am for it. But really, we don't even let our war heroes who gave their lives be this newsworthy, something is wrong with that.

These days are strange days. Yes there are "others" we never hear about in the national news.

And what about some "good things' that happen. National news does not report those things either.

Happy Easter

I often think the same things. It is sad when anyone gets killed....

I agree with all the comments. However, even a MLB pitcher is also a son, brother, daddy, husband, etc. Drunk driving is always a heartbreaker, so unnecessary, and so difficult to forgive.
How about Sassy for your filly?
