Knocked or not? Part 7 or 8 at least

I think I have a cat. Well I know I have a man cat at the farm, and he looks exactly like this. This cat, however, was at the house today. Across the street from the barn actually, where Marvin and I were working, getting Twist Sly and Fonzie trimmed, dewormed and otherwise maintained.

This cat sat and watched for a solid 90 minutes. I kept driving past it to go to the house and flip laundry, etc, and still there it would sit in the same position. I assumed that meant I should take some photos--I am working all the time on lighting issues, so since it was sitting so pretty in the sun, I eventually gave in and did it.

Eventually, kitty got tired of me and took off. When I downloaded the pics just now, the first thing I noticed was this tummy. I do not even know if this is a girl cat, or a boy cat, or an it cat, and I do not know if it lives here or elsewhere. Could this be a knocked up kitty?

Should I be putting food out for it, in case it does live here? Or would that just ensure some other wild varmints, and not prove one way or the other whether this cat belongs to me? I hate for it to be hungry, especially if it is a knocked up kitty, but I also hate to invite more damn animals into my barn, such as raccoons, possum, mice and other hideous creatures.

Weigh in here, esp on the knocked up question. Since I am allergic to cats, I am not an expert on them. I like kittens, cuz they are cute, and there are usually some around. It just occurred to me that this could be one of the kittens that showed up in my garage when I was out of town once, and that Linda found. Or it could be completely random other cat.

It is a cute cat. I wonder what it was thinking, watching and sitting there for that long.
I can't tell if it is preggers. But I do think putting food out could invite other unwanted visitors. Hopefully other readers can provide some ideas for that?
It is sad when a cat is feral or unwanted. Ferals obviously learn to survive by hunting. But who knows if this one was once a pet and knows what it means to be loved and fed well. One of my parents' cats was left behind by previous owners at the house they bought. For a year she fended for herself (she was quite the hunter and even once my parents adopted her, she had a hard time giving this up!) Good luck and keep us posted.

Hm! "Picture-gut" says --he-she-it are ( are you ready ) "in the family way". Just could not resist.

What the heck--go ahead a feed her. A story---when we had our Girleepup last month (yeah she is gone now) our garage door was always open and her food was next to her dog box. She was a picky eater and left food many times. It never went to waste ---eaten by "visitors"

When the weather was cold and door was down, Skip would take the remaining food and throw it under a tree in our front yard. It was always gone.

SOOOOOO. Now if we have any leftovers, the garbage does not get it--------that tree is better than a landfill as the food is always gone. By what------we have no clue, but-----he-she-it-----are always very neat.

Moral of the story: Feed the kitty.

Happy Easter Carol

That kitty looks alike like Lorna's Brandy.

My unprofessional opinion: Preggers. looks healthy enough, she's probably hunting so unless she comes closer to the house looking nappy, don't feed. She may just be looking for a nice safe place to have those kittens.

She's definitely pregnant. Feed her, but away from the house, maybe at the barn. Cats are always nice for taking care of mice and rats. I don't really like them, but nothing should go hungry if she's in the family way.

Feed it, if you see it again, but don't leave cat food out 24/7. If you see the cat, open a can of stinky wet cat food (or a pouch), mix it up with a small amount of dry food and see if the cat will eat. No more than 1/4 cup at a time to begin with. You want the cat to finish it all up in one sitting so you can rinse the cat food dish out and not attract unwanted pests.

I would say the possible Miss Kitty is pregs...but I'm not sure if I would feed her...You don't want her to lose her hunting drive-maybe just feed her a very little bit until potential babies are weaned...but if it is a she cat she'll be pregs again by that time! Hussies :)
