Fail

It finally happened. The State of Illinois has failed to pay the parent company that Barry works for for a long enough time that he is now laid off.

I am in shock, hysterics, and I do not know if there are enough sedatives in the world to get me under control.

Until I get that handled, please spread the word of how my horses have to go. Send people my way if they are looking for some super nice broodmares, or young stock.

I never thought this could happen to us

Hang in there, Paige! I'm with Jocelyn. Things have a way of working out, even when you think times are at their worst.

I'm so sorry that this happened. Even though our company had warned us that layoffs were happening, it still always comes as a shock.

At least it's spring- the grass will help cut back on the feed bill, right?

I wish we were in a position to buy a horse (or two!) right now. I love horses and can't wait to have some of my own!

As a side note- if the State of ILL is responsible for paying Barry's company, maybe the stimulus money will reach them soon?

Paige--

No. 1 Calm down!
No. 2 Think first!
No. 3 Make lists of priorities

And you are not alone in that "boat" of troubles.

Someone around---- likes you guys and is in the "process" of "helping out" Just have to wait a bit!

Use your strengths and weaknesses to get through this situation. It will work itself out in your favor.

Take care Carol

OMG! This is awful! I'm w/Jocelyn, don't do anything drastic. But to easy your mind I have a cousin in IL who might be able to help w/the horses. Send me an email.

Oh God Paige. I'm so sorry. I know your pain having just finally gotten back to work myself after being laid off for 10 months.

Take a deep breath, a drink or two and then in the light of day, look at things as objectively as possible. What can you do to tighten belts, etc? Don't do anything drastic or crazy. Take some time to think about everything before you make ANY decisions. Especially where the horses are conerned.

I'll be thinking about you. I just wish there was something more I could do...

Yes, Paige, panic time is over. You have gotten it out of your system, time to make a plan. We just survived 4 months of a lay off. It isn't easy, but you can do it.

I'm so, so sorry to hear this. Been there done that, on a smaller scale. :(

Take a little while to completely freak out and melt down if you need to, then put it all back in the box and figure out what needs to happen right now. Then today. Then tomorrow. You can deal with this. IM me if you want to talk.

I'm so sorry, what a shock. Try to keep the panic to a minimum. You will survive this.

Maybe peeg can get a job.

You have to make it through the night, to see better days. After reading all your posts, I know for a fact you'll make it. You are "too big" to fail:)

It's okay, get the panic out of the way first and then you guys will be able to sit down and get things organized.

I'm so sorry you guys are going to have to deal with this though. What a stinking shame.
