SNAFU

Is this cute--Cash and her baby, when she was not yet dry. This pic was taken this morning--I hate using flash but it is necessary in that stall. It is slow, so you don't end up with the pic you wanted to take, and it scares the baby. But this was not bad.

In other news......

Situation Normal All F%*&$@ Up.

That is the story of our lives.

Poor Barry is finally on his boy trip he has been trying to get on for two years--things went right enough that he did not miss either his first plane or his second plane, and he managed to hook up with some of his cohorts at DFW. Evidently though, since then, he has gotten bad sick. He sounded horrible when he called to tell me he thought he was dying--and it was at least the third time he had called today. That means he was excited, only to get struck down with the plague and he is afraid it was the one that I had that kicked my ass for so long. I hope not, as it will ruin his trip if that is the case.

Mom came out to help me do all the baby stuff this afternoon and we got that done. Madison was on top of things farm-related while I was spinning like a wild woman. When I got home, we played with baby some and then she went on home. I was finishing things, thinking about how I was gonna sit in this big chair and sleep in the big cushy bed and not get up til tomorrow, after I watched the Illini in the NCAA tourney---and that is when I noticed it.

Aries had wax.

She is not due til 4/4, but she is in the range that she could go now---and wax rarely lies. That meant Cash had to move to another stall, I had to bring Aries in--and she is shedding like crazy. I hacked at her with the shedding blade a while, as she moaned and groaned in a happy way. I pulled pounds of hair off of her, and that leaves her looking mangy and gross. She needs a good scrubbing but it is too cold, so she will just have to look all scurfy.

Damn her. I so wanted to go to my big chair. And stay in it. But that changes things. A good person would stay over there. I do not know if I can stay up long enough to resituate over there. Then again, I had to strip the big bed to get rid of the dog hair--and who knows if I can stay awake long enough to get that all washed and dried. ETA: Oh joy, I have flooded the laundry room. WTF is that about? Same king size comforter I wash all the time--how did I screw that up?

Don't get me wrong, I am so excited for this baby. He /she marks our return to higher level breeding like we used to do, but had to take a time out from, and that in itself is a big deal. I just wanted it to come next week. Or the week after.

See how it goes here at my house? One thing after another, bam bam bam.

Do you blame Aries? All the other mares have been getting all this attention and their picture taken- she was just jealous!

Here I was being all envious of you, without giving you credit for all the hard work that you do! Your schedule would run my lazy butt into the ground!
