This is one of my favorite photos from vacation. It was taken from Gwen's Reggae Grill on Upper Shoal Beach in Anguilla. Oddly, our passports were stamped Guadeloupe, rather than Anguilla. Kind of wierd. Supposedly, this is the most photographed beach in the world, and I can see why, it is truly stunning. Because we were there a week before the high season started, we had the beach to ourselves other than one other group of two women.
"Wonder what the po' folks are doing today?" has never been a more appropriate question than it was on that day--the place was so stunning and peaceful that it totally made us forget we are the Po Folks. That question is a running joke in our family, and has been since about 1995 when our friend Jon used to say it when we were at Crab Orchard Lake boating. It was such an absurd thing to say that it stuck and comes up occasionally--I know when Barry says it, he is having the time of his life.
The photo of my foot sticking out on the right is of the same beach. Is that water amazing, or what? The dark line about 10 feet out is coral. I have to admit that Anguilla put St Maarten to shame for beauty, but there is very little to do there other than lay on a beach--it is very non-commercial, which is nice if you are truly wanting to relax.
The photo of the sailboat on the left shows Tintamarre Island, just off the coast of Orient Bay, which is the clothing optional beach on the French side. This is a very fun beach with a lot to do--water sports restaurants and bars, and of course, nekkid watching. We went twice and look forward to taking Carrie and Doyle there when we stop on our cruise in February, as Barry never got to kite surf due to lack of instructor available. Surely, during the high season in February, he will be able to, while Carrie and Doyle and I enjoy the rum drinks and watch nekkids.
This is Barry bodysurfing--I just like this pic. It too was taken at Orient Bay, but honestly, I was trying to take pictures of the only person I saw on this beach that had any business being nekkid in public. And no, I am not sharing it on here.

This is a view of the beach at our resort taken from our dive boat. I am not really a fan of beaches--I am more into a pool by a beach unless you have the fancy chairs and a man to bring you cocktails. Pelicans beach was okay, and Barry hung out there some.
In case you get lost driving round and round the island on the one road, you will occasionally pass this sign and immediately know where you are at. Handy, isnt it?

And this is the ONLY photo of me and Barry together on this trip---a nekkid person took it!

www.coffeysouthernman.com . He played at an event on Sunday and I'm in love with him now!!!!!
The diving was not great--1 of 4 dives was worth doing, and it was so rough getting in, I was fairly sure I would never be seen again. The pics blow too. Typical
I have the inside scoop on where you and I need to go dive next though.
I am off to check this dude--does he love you back? are you a groupie?
It was a beautiful trip, sounds like you and BS had a nice time.
wow, those pictures are something! I remember wondering what the po' people were doing while we hanging out at Crab Orchard! I need to find me a sugar daddy like in that pic (minus the thong) so that I can go to the beach, too!!
Don't look now, but I think that old guy's ass ate his shorts.
The vacation looks great to me.

The scenery of the October travelogue ( minus the old guy) was beautiful. Can't wait to see what February will bring. Closest I will ever get to that kind of beach.
Thanks for sharing.
