Thoughts for the day- or GROW UP!

"You probably wouldn't worry about what people think of you if you could know how seldom they do."
Olin Miller
Here is what I think about today. Today, I think that some people suck. I mean, REALLY REALLY suck. It is a sad day when you realize that just because someone has reached the age of forty-plus, that their behavior has failed to mature past third grade.
What is it about grown folks that make them need to manipulate, bully, and threaten other people? I have just about had it listening to the daily list of who said what about someone else, what they are going to do about it and how it is all someone else's fault. Honestly.
Today's topic is the supposedly adult members of the local horse associations. I do not know why it has attracted such a bunch of bullies that think the rules do not apply to them and that they are in control of things, when in fact they are not, but that seems to be the case. There is a small group of trouble makers that has ruined it for everyone and something has made them think they can order people around and demand things of them that they are not entitled to demand. The one thing they are missing though is that I do NOT work for them, neither does anyone else who volunteers their time with this organization, and thus, we do not have to do what they say. This news is not going over well with them, so today, I hear the tactics have changed to manipulation (or extortion, which might be the more accurate term). That should be fun.
I have to learn to not take these things personally. I do not know why I do at all, other than it seems strange that the very few people that actually put some labor into an organization should not be the ones to be bitched at and about all the time.
If I could get one thing through to these bullies is that if they want to control everything, do the work. Or hire it done. But don't kid yourself that I work for you and have to take my orders from you. I do not.

Boy, I wouldn't want to be the one that set you off. Whatever did, I'm sorry it happened and so proud that you're above that nonsense.
Thanks for the 40th anniversare greeting.
Love you,
Mom
