I am shocked beyond belief, but I woke up to an excellent surprise. I GOT PAID! Hallelujah! YAY! Actual money in my account!
And some time in the night, the governor decided against vetoing the entire budget the legislature gave him over the weekend, and instead is just using a line-item veto to cut half a billion dollars from it to put toward his health care plan. Some of that money is just pork projects, but I dont remember where the other half is coming from.
I just heard on the radio that the Senate will not try to override the veto, so we should have a real signed budget soon, and this state can get back to the business of running the government like it is supposed to, instead of acting like a bunch of big babies.
YAY!

Glad you got paid - makes going to work worthwhile - LOL! Plus you'll have dollars for when you take your intern out tonight for dollar bills...
It is remarkable how relieved I feel--and proves my theory of jinxing. I got everything in place to deal with the situation should we not get paid, and as is usually the case, it was wasted effort. Whatever it takes to keep things moving along suits me!
Congrats on getting paid. Seems funny to be celebrating as you did work for it afterall, not like finding a winning lotto ticket on the ground. Anyway have fun tonight and drink one for me too.

It's About Time! YAY!!! It's Sad when there's a congrats in the sentence when it comes to a regular Pay Check, for goodness sakes!
